Ok so I've successfully hatched many baby alkali shrimp in my pickle jar hatchery. I stuck in my syringe, sucked out some water and .... no brine shrimp. They're still just all swimming effectually in their jar. I tried it again and I can't catch whatever. What practise I do? At that place are still some unhatched eggs in there so I don't desire to pour the whole thing in a strainer and and then add it to the tank because all the eggs volition go in.
Assistance!

Ok I'll try that.
All the eggs are down at the bottom and the brine shrimp are swimming all over the identify.

Low-cal,LIGHT,LIGHT they are attracted to any light scourse I put a wink lite on the side of my hatchery and they swarm makes really quick work to get a bunch out at one time. I personally don't have prissy equipment for this but coffee filters hold brine shrimp in and drain water out hope this helps. All the eggs are down at the bottom and the brine shrimp are swimming all over the place.

Just dump them in the tank. I only hatched my starting time batch and I added water and shrimp to the tank.

I employ a soda canteen every bit a hatchery. (Expect up DIY hatcheries on YouTube if you haven't seen them)
When it's time to harvest I smooth a calorie-free on the lesser. The bbs goes to the light on the bottom and The egg shells float to the top.
Then I utilise a straw to suck them up past covering the top of the straw with my finger...putting the straw at the bottom so remove my finger and chop-chop put it back again. The bbs from the lesser go into the straw.
Then keep your finger covering the top and then release information technology into a minor glass bowl of tank h2o.
So I shine a calorie-free on ane side of the glass basin and all the bbs flocks there.
And then I use a medicine dropper to suck them out of the bowl and eject them into the tank for the fry.

The bbs stay alive in that bowl for 12 hours or more. Then I tin keep using that bbs throughout the day.
The tiny bit of salt from the hatchery is diluted past the tank water in the basin. Inappreciably whatever salt really gets into the fry tank. This has been my method for years.

I managed to get a bunch out and my Tetras loved them simply there were some unhatched eggs that went in as well. Are those unsafe for the fish at all?

Could you elaborate? I'd similar to know your process for this. The egg shells can be mopped up west a strong magnet.
I find that the reusable coffee filters brand the harvest process easier than using paper filters.
